DETAILED CASE

How the equipment was engineered.

Production context, equipment design, scope of delivery and verified customer value.

01 / Customer challenge

TIB Molbiol needed to automate the production of probe samples used for COVID-related testing.

The process extended beyond liquid filling. After filling, the probes also required drying, inspection, closing and colour coding.

The engineering challenge was to combine these laboratory operations into one automated production process while reducing overall processing lead time. Standard laboratory equipment existed for individual operations, but had previously been operated manually rather than as one integrated automated system.

02 / Engineered solution

DIS Systems developed a fully automated production system integrating standard laboratory equipment into one integrated machine.

The system combines liquid filling, drying, inspection, closing and colour coding within one controlled production sequence.

Mechanical and structural engineering, electrical design, PLC/HMI automation and machine safety were developed as an integrated solution around the laboratory equipment and required process flow.

The system supports a broad range of production recipes, allowing the automated process to accommodate different production requirements.

The project covered concept generation, engineering, production, in-house FAT, installation, SAT and ongoing remote and onsite service.
