DETAILED CASE

How the equipment was engineered.

Production context, equipment design, scope of delivery and verified customer value.

01 / Customer challenge

The customer needed a stand-alone robot cell for testing and developing new manufacturing technology and processes for part handling and sorting.

The cell had to integrate existing customer modules while allowing the robot to pick and orient parts, perform a vision check and then place or sort the parts according to the inspection result.

Flexibility was important because the equipment was intended as a development platform rather than a fixed single-product production machine.

02 / Engineered solution

DIS Systems engineered and manufactured a compact robot cell around a small Fanuc industrial robot.

The system combines a dual-vision setup, vibration-fed parts, robotic picking and orientation, vision-based inspection and sorting based on the vision output.

The cell was developed with a strong focus on flexibility, robust mechanical layout, machine safety and documentation. Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, safety PLC and robot setup were included in the delivery.

The customer supplied part of the submodules and completed vision and robot programming with support from DIS Systems, creating a lean project setup while integrating the customer’s own technology into the complete stand-alone cell.
