01 / Customer challenge

The customer needed a conveyor system for internal transport and distribution of large-scale products across a factory more than 100 metres long.

The new equipment had to interface with the existing production infrastructure to exchange production data, support product tracking and distribution, and communicate with Automated Guided Vehicles.

The physical scale of the factory also meant operators needed practical access to system control from different locations.

02 / Engineered solution

DIS Systems developed a modular conveyor system around the existing factory layout and equipment.

The project included site investigation, concept generation, layout optimization, equipment simplification and cost optimization together with the automation architecture and material-flow logic required to coordinate transport through the system.

The conveyor system integrates with the AGV Fleet Management System and incorporates SCADA visualization for product tracking and system information. Because of the physical scale of the installation, wireless tablet control was implemented so operators could access the system from different locations.

A modular build strategy supported transport and installation at remote customer locations worldwide.
