DETAILED CASE

How the equipment was engineered.

Production context, equipment design, scope of delivery and verified customer value.

01 / Customer challenge

The customer had developed a chemical treatment for insulation material and needed to turn the process into production equipment.

Following a concept study and proof of concept, the challenge became integrating the impregnation process into existing production lines at the customer’s factory in Canada.

The equipment needed to support different product sizes while adding the new process without compromising the required cycle time of the existing line.

02 / Engineered solution

DIS Systems developed three impregnation machines for small, medium and large products.

Each machine was built around a modular process architecture combining product infeed, chemical solution storage and application, spraying, drying, cooling and automated product handling.

The modular sub-systems were designed to integrate with the existing production line and support adaptation of the process equipment around the required product size and line configuration.

The project progressed from concept study and proof of concept through requirement and test specification, risk assessment and CSA documentation, production, Factory Acceptance Test, installation support in Canada and Site Acceptance Test.
